New initiative unites clinical standards, addiction medicine expertise, and outcomes-driven virtual care design—built to strengthen the patient-physician relationship
TAMPA, FL — December 16, 2025 — DevotedDOc, a physician-led virtual care organization, today announced the formal launch of the DevotedDOc Institute for Virtual Care Excellence (the “Institute”), a clinical and knowledge center created to advance high-quality, outcomes-focused virtual care and to share that expertise with health systems, payers, employer partners, and clinical leaders.
The Institute formalizes protocols and clinical governance that DevotedDOc has refined in practice and provides a structured vehicle to translate that expertise into education, evidence generation, and tailored programs for partner organizations. Built from clinical experience and standards of excellence in virtual care delivery and continuous measurement, the Institute is intended to move telehealth beyond episodic convenience visits toward durable, specialty-grade virtual services that deliver measurable value to the medical community.
“Formalizing the Institute allows us to bring the clinical rigor and measurement we use every day into a forum that supports other organizations,” said Dr. Matthew Berrios, DO, Founder of DevotedDOc. “We are focused on preserving the patient-physician relationship while applying governance, data, and outcomes measurement to virtual care at scale. That combination is how telehealth demonstrates real clinical and economic value to health systems and employers.”
The DevotedDOc Institute for Virtual Care Excellence focuses on:
- Clinical Standards & Care Models — evidence-based care pathways, clinical governance structures, and measurement frameworks designed specifically for high-quality virtual practice
- Addiction Medicine & Recovery Innovation — advancement of DevotedDOc’s virtual addiction clinic and recovery models developed in partnership with board-certified addiction physicians and clinical informatics experts, including continuity-of-care and patient-safety guardrails
- Quality, Safety & Outcomes — pragmatic quality measurement and peer-learning processes to improve clinical performance and demonstrate impact
- Cost, Utilization & Value — partner-facing frameworks that align access, outcomes, and responsible utilization for systems and employers
The Institute will serve as a convening hub for DevotedDOc’s clinical innovations, including its virtual addiction clinic, a digital infirmary for rapid assessment and follow-up, and virtual chronic care management lines with access to a vetted network of 26 consulting specialists. Backed by DevotedDOc’s clinical team and informatics capability and informed by our clinicians under the DevotedDOc model, the Institute will support clinicians, advance clinical knowledge, and develop tailored programs for partner organizations seeking a clinically governed approach to virtual care.
“We’ve demonstrated what works in telehealth across clinical lines and settings,” added Dr. Matthew Berrios, DO. “The Institute is how we bring that experience, measurement, and partnership capability to the broader health care community so virtual care is recognized for its clinical and economic contributions and not just for the convenience.”
